Embracing Abilities: Helping Hand’s Summer of Community Connections and Celebration
Helping Hand is having fun in the sun this summer as we connect with our community! This summer, you’ll find us at local farmers markets, bridging connections, and spreading awareness about our mission. We’re excited to share how we’re expanding our community outreach efforts.
Recently, we have had a presence at the Hinsdale Farmers Market, Brookfield Farmers Market, and Westmont Cruisin’ Nights. Through these opportunities, HH has been able to share our mission with the community, volunteer opportunities, and even showcase the art our adult clients create! We believe that meaningful connections with our community are at the heart of what we do, that’s why we proudly have HH team members and families represent us at these events.
Through these events, we not only raise awareness about the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities but also highlight the transformative impact of our resources and services. These interactions allow us to listen to the needs of our community directly, forge partnerships with local businesses and volunteers, and build a stronger community for individuals of all abilities.
By actively seeking connections with the community, we can provide opportunities to local groups and activities for our clients! Thanks to our community outreach, we were recently able to host the senior division of the Brookfield Western Conference baseball team in our Community Connections Space. Through these experiences, our community is able to engage with our clients and help build various life skills for those we serve.
Our journey through local farmers markets and community events this summer has been nothing short of inspiring. At Helping Hand, we are deeply committed to fostering a community that embraces differences for individuals of all abilities. Through these outreach efforts, we’ve not only shared our mission and volunteer opportunities but also celebrated the talents and contributions of our clients. Our interactions with the community reinforces our belief in the power of connection and genuine education. As we continue to break down barrier, we invite you to join us in making a difference.
